dcgamenight is hosting another public game night at Busboys and Poets at 5th and K (Facebook Event). We meet up at random places to play boardgames, card games, and other sorts of games. We're easygoing folks, so come out and join us and play something. I haven't been to this B&P, but look for the big yellow Connect 4 board and the group of people playing games. Hope to see you there.

If you can't make it tomorrow, we are also holding a poll to vote for the next date. The poll closes tomorrow, so go vote And not every game night is public, some are held at people's home, and are private. If you want to be invited to those private game nights, join dcgamenight and DCGN Facebook Group.

First Game Night of 2009
Teaism Penn Quarter
Wednesday, January 7
6:30PM

We'll probably move downstairs, so look for the big yellow Connect 4 board. And the people playing games. We're hard to miss.

dcgamenight holds game nights almost every week (or more). Many of them are public, all are in the DC Metro area. So come join us, either on the LJ, or on our Facebook group. Some of the game nights are not public, so be sure to join to get those announcements. If you can't make tonight's game night, be sure to vote in our poll, which closes tomorrow, for next week's game night.

Click here for a super special ashburn chez turtle Games Night Announcement

Ok, I exaggerated, it's a perfectly normal games night announcement. Think of it as a campaign promise. But click anyway, and think about coming over for games night, we haven't seen you in a while, or many of you, ever!

Heyyyyy!!!!!

Games & Stuff in Glen Burnie will be running Weekend in the Realms from October 24th-October 26th!

Yes, that is an entire weekend of a special 3 part adventure. This also coincides with Games & Stuff's annual Game-a-thon celebration on Saturday.

NOTE: On Saturday, there is a fee for taking part, because this is part of Game-a-thon. The price is tbd, but probably 20-25$ (I will have an update as soon as I can). Proceeds go to charity (NCEON, a local food bank). On Saturday, the entry fee also covers pizza! Game-a-Thon will also mean the store stays open late (until 3AM). Friday and Sunday are free! But you have to buy your own pizza.

Signups are AT THE STORE, so please drop by and sign in. If you don't sign up, there are drop-in slots available, but not guaranteed!

Weekend in the Realms is a special Living Forgotten Realms (LFR) game day being held across the country. We will be running the adventure Beneath Haunted Halls by Matt Sernett. This adventure is available for play ONLY during Weekend in the Realms October 24-26 and will be running simultaneously all over the world (like the D&D World Wide Game Day). It is a 3-part adventure with each part running approximately 3 hours in length.

On Friday, October 24th,
Part I starts at 3pm
Part II starts at 7PM

On Saturday, October 25th
Part I and Part III will be running at 12 noon
Part I and II will be running again at 4pm
Part II and III will run at 7pm
Part III will run one final time at 10:30pm

On Sunday, October 26th
Part III will run at 12pm
Part III will run one final time at 4pm.

The stores address is
Games & Stuff
7476 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd
Glen Burnie, MD 21061
(410) 863-7410

If you want to play, you will need a Living Realms character and sign up at the store!

dcgamenight is hosting a public game night to celebrate Columbus Day. Not really. We're just going to play games. So meet us at Teaism Penn Quarter, today at 6:30PM. Look for the people playing games, and we might be downstairs. I'll be a bit late because I am giving blood, but once I get there, search for the big yellow Connect 4 board. Anyone and everyone is welcome, bring games, bring friends.

Columbus Day Gaming
(Facebook Event)
Monday, October 13
6:30PM
Teaism Penn Quarter
400 8th St NW
Washington, DC
Closest Metro: Archives, Chinatown, Federal Triangle

Want to know about more game nights, including private ones? Then join dcgamenight and/or the DC Game Night Facebook Group.

Can't make tonight's game night? No worries, we're voting on when to hold the next one. So go vote before the end of Wednesday and let us know when you want to play.

Also, DCGN has a couple other special events coming up. First, we're planning a trip to RenFest this Sunday. Also, we're going to organize Convoy to JohnCon in Baltimore. While I sometimes advertise our public events, there are also a bunch of private game night events that you can only find out about by joining (one of us, one of us).

We're a really easygoing group who like to play anything. Hope to see you there.

Oct 18th: free street game: Cruel 2 B Kind [Oct. 10th, 2008|10:38 am]
dcgaming

birdfigment
In an election year, bitter rivals cut each other down with compliments. Crowds barrage bystanders with cheers. Innocents are caught in the crossfire of congratulations.

In the Capital City, nothing is crueler than a random act of kindness.

On October 18th, 2-4 PM, join other benevolent assassins on the National Mall, and find out why it's Cruel to be Kind.

Stick around afterwards to celebrate with your rivals and victims, and meet new friends in DC!

Cruel 2 B Kind is a game of benevolent assassination. Your "weapons" are compliments, and you are simultaneously the hunter and the hunted on the National Mall. I think it's going to be bizarre and a lot of fun; it should be especially good to see the confused reactions of pleasantly-accosted tourists.

Full details are at crueldc.com; register for this free game by 2 PM on October 17th.

Unsung [Sep. 30th, 2008|01:22 pm]

Anyone out there interested in a shortish campaign of Kirt Dankmyer's Unsung (a game about the tough moral choices presented by war and violent conflict)?

I've got two players, and would like 1-2 more. Most likely in Baltimore, Monday nights, for 3-5 sessions.

dcgamenight is hosting a public game night tonight, at Teaism Penn Quarter, at 6:30PM. Just look for the big yellow Connect 4 board, and the bunch of people playing games. We typically move downstairs in fairly short order, so look for us there. All are welcome.

Can't make it tonight? Never fear, we generally have game nights every week. In fact, we're voting on when to have the next one, so go vote before Wednesday is over. We don't always advertise our game nights, and some of them are private, so the best way to find out about the next one (and let your voice be heard) is to join dcgamenight and the DC Game Night Facebook Group. Go do it!

On September 22, KICK ASS FOR AMERICA [Sep. 15th, 2008|01:21 pm]
dcgaming

dikaiosunh
I'll be running a one-shot of Sons of Liberty, the fast-paced (I hope, it's my first time running it) game of kicking ass in an alternate steampunk American revolution. The game will be held at my place in Baltimore (sorry if it's a hike - I'll be on baby-watching duty; remember that the Founding Fathers fought for FAMILY VALUES. With CLOCKWORK ARMOR.)

I can handle a couple more players, so if you're interested, drop me a line through my profile.

If you're not interested, you might be a COMMUNIST.

Capitalization and ass-kicking a must. Tricorner hats optional.
