Reviving the community with a sales post? Yeah, I suck. :-) [Dec. 1st, 2009|09:54 am]

[mood |busy]

Hello, fellow gamergeeks! I know this community hasn't gotten a lot of traffic in a while, and it sucks to have the first thing posted in several months be a sales post... But it is what it is. I thought you all might be interested, so here goes anyway!

My fiance and I are moving and downsizing, and I have several games up for auction. Fun stuff! We had every intention of playing... but we just haven't. Our loss is your potential game ... er gain! :-)

Pirateology the Game. This looks so fun! We just never got around to playing it, and if I can find it a good home, all the better. Brand new, never opened!

World of Warcraft: The Boardgame. Picture it - a cold, stormy night, you're about to take down Arthas... and the power goes out. Ohnoes! What to do?? How will you get your MMO fix?!? Why, with the WoW Board Game, of course! :-) Also new - the box has been opened, but none of the pieces taken out of their packaging.

WoW Battle Chest. Pining for the good old days of Warcraft III? Here's your chance to own it! Experience the back story you've been wondering about! Also brand new, never opened.

TCEP 16: Craig and Tad Against the World Crime League [Jun. 30th, 2009|03:14 pm]

[mood |cheerfulcheerful]

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen! The time is drawing near for TCEP 16: Craig and Tad Against the World Crime League - now in it's 16th year of being the best 4 days of gaming, relaxation, and fun in the greater DC area!

Who are we? Just a bunch o' people who get together and share good food, good times, and loads of GAMING! It's a very relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of space for people to bring their own games and find others willing to play them!

On-Line Pre-Registration: Is back! Although the old web team was devoured by shoggoths last year, we have been able to retrieve their notes (don't ask how). The website is up and running at http://barkingmad.org

LARP: Well, we had one, but Life (tm) has found a way to sink it's hooks into the people running it, and so again, its being put on the back burner. We're in "negotiations" for another one. Information will be forthcoming if it happens.

Games: In addition to our usual wide variety of events, we will be running the E. Gary Gygax/Dave Arneson Memorial Dungeon Crawl. As always, we'll have plenty of space for pick-up games!

Saturday night will feature our 4th annual Charity Poker Tournament to benefit The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, The Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University, and The Mazzy Kaya Foundation.

We'll also be having a non-gamers area for those who prefer their relaxation to be more of the craft variety. Hosts & hostesses will be announced....when I have their permission. ;-)

Mix all of that in with the Friday night dinner (Bait Sushi at Asahi, or meat at Outback), our famous ConSuite (complete with fresh bread) and you have four days of fun that are not to be missed!

Here's the particulars:

Time running out for Chill 3rd ed! [Jun. 2nd, 2009|12:22 pm]

I've talked about this on my LJ, but thought it might bear repeating here.

Remember the Chill RPG? Check this out:

For the link-phobic, the short version is that OtherWorld Creations is trying to raise funds for a printing of this great horror RPG classic. For each $45 donation pledged, you'll get a copy of the 3rd edition Chill RPG hardcover sent to you. Since it is a pledge, no money is taken now, but will be only when they reach their goal.

As of just a bit ago, there is 11.5 days remaining, and they have only raised $3465 of their $25k goal.

I've pledged towards this. I've liked the game. And I'd like to see this version and this method succeed. The only thing I haven't seen is a lot of people talking about it on the Web.

So, whether or not you pledge (and I hope you do), please consider mentioning this on your LJ or preferred blogging/social media venue. If nothing else, you're helping RPG's continue to succeed, and that is in every gamer's interest.

Fine Print: I am in no way affiliated with OtherWorld Creations, Chill, or anyone who has ever produced or created this game. I am but a loyal fan who hopes to be able to introduce his kids to this game some day.

Tabletop [Apr. 6th, 2009|06:04 am]

Hey, all,

Not quite sure if this is the type of 'gaming' you mean, but several friends and I are setting up a Shadowrun game with SR4 rules in and around the metro area, and we're looking for more interested members. This would be an on-going campaign, once every one or two weeks. Give me a ping here, my LJ, or at WICKidEGO at aol dot com, if you're interested. Thanks!
